In 2009, Fist Of Kong (a duo with Dan McMahon, and found here: fistofkong.bandcamp.com ) recorded "Crepuscule On Io", a 3-hour epic drone piece, recorded live, with almost no post-production (other than compression and some light reverb). I decided to revisit the concept at The Home Office. As I thrive on collaboration, I could not reach another 3-hour epic, but at 2 hours, it's plenty.

I set up three lines: the electric tamboura box went through one set of effects and amp, and then the Cellostick loop went through another set of effects, and into the other amp, which it shared with the third bank of effects, through which all the live playing passes, be it on microphone or guitar or whatever.

Given the multitude of effects pedals I have amassed, I've come to an appreciation of the nearly-generative properties of stacking these effects to ludicrous degrees, so I started working with that here. My experimentation with this concept found fuller expression on the next project, recorded just two days later.
