I recorded Seven Monkeys by sneaking into the University of Houston music building and using the pianos they had in their practice spaces, back when I still thought I could adequately play piano. I used occasional overdubs, tape pitch shifts, and other devices to make this my attempt at the "music of nightmares".

Also included in this double album, the full reissue of Equations Too Good To Be True, recorded just before Seven Monkeys. "Additions" is the last of the "pseudo-Free Jazz" recordings I did in the mid-90s, wherein I created a facsimile of Free Jazz through solo overdubbing, a practice which I now look back at with a mix of disdain and amusement. "Planetarium" was the first of the "random abstracts" (a concept which died quickly a couple of years later when I started using a computer to make music), wherein different tracks of material would be overlaid on top of each other, creating relationships largely determined by chance.
